1959: Klippon Electricals Ltd. is founded in Sheerness, England. As Weidmüller's first international company, the company takes over the manufacture and distribution of terminal blocks and enclosures for the process and energy industries.
1980s: Opening of the enclosure factory in Sheerness, Kent. The factory provides manufacturing and assembly of enclosure solutions in glass reinforced polyester, stainless steel, and aluminium for hazardous areas..
2007: Launch of the new Klippon® TB range, which is rated by many major OEMs and EPC customers as the best on the market. The Klippon® TB range was completely redesigned and received crucial approvals such as ATEX, IEC-EX, and UL.
2015: Start of production and assembly of boxes and enclosures in Saudi Arabia to meet the regional needs of manufacturers – start of the "In Kingdom Total Value Add" initiative.
2017: Start of Weidmueller Saudi Arabia Factory LLC joint venture with Gas Arabian Services Co. Ltd.
2020: Decision to combine Weidmueller's engineering expertise for the process industry into a single group company. The new Klippon Engineering UK Ltd. operates a global network of subsidiaries whose aim is to provide the process industry with a dedicated network of experts with in-house application engineering capabilities.
2021: Launch of Klippon Engineering UK Ltd.
2021: The Weidmüller Group acquires the business of Emphatec Inc., Markham, Ontario, the team and capabilities of Emphatec will supplement the solutions portfolio of Klippon Engineering
